RealiView for DOS Control Guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Note: when either the mouse or joystick is selected as the control device the keyboard controls will be disabled. This only applies to keys that move the camera - all other keys will function normally. The sensitivity of the controls can be adjusted by going to the options menu (press F2) and pressing S to adjust the value. It can be adjusted from 1 (finest control) to 9 (coarsest control). The options menu can also be used to select the controller type and change various other settings. Free Flight vs Ground Flight Modes ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In ground flight mode the controls are the same as for free flight except the camera can not be rolled, and moving forward while looking up or down will not change your height. Orbit Camera Mode ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When you select orbit mode (by pressing O) the object in the centre of your view will be used as the centre of orbit. Keyboard Controls: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The keyboard controls can be viewed by pressing F1 when running the viewer or by using the /k command line option - 'rmdview /k' to list the control keys. Mouse Controls: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When mouse controls are selected you will see a small cross for the cursor and a box in the centre of the screen (this box can be turned on/off from the options menu). This box represents a 'dead' area for the mouse - you will not move while the mouse is inside the box. Moving the mouse out of the box and pressing either of the mouse buttons will cause you to move in the following ways: Camera in orbit mode: With left button pressed: moving the mouse orbits around the target. With right button pressed: moving the mouse up/down moves in/out of the screen. moving the mouse left/right rolls the camera. Camera in free flight mode: With left button pressed: left/right .. turns left/right. up/down ..... moves in/out of the screen. With right button pressed: left/right .. pans the camera to the left/right. up/down ..... pans the camera up/down. With both buttons pressed: left/right .. roll the camera (not available in ground flight mode). up/down ..... pitch the camera. Note: if you have the solid camera option turned on the mouse dead box will turn red when you have hit an object. Joystick Controls: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Camera in orbit mode: With no fire buttons pressed: moving the joystick rotates around the target. With any fire button pressed: moving the joystick up/down moves in/out of the screen. moving the joystick left/right rolls the camera. Camera in free flight mode: With no fire buttons pressed: left/right .. turns left/right. up/down ..... moves in/out of the screen. With fire 1 pressed: left/right .. pans the camera to the left/right. up/down ..... pans the camera up/down. With fire 2 pressed: left/right .. roll the camera (not available in ground flight mode). up/down ..... pitch the camera. Virtual i-O i-glasses Head Tracker ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This viewer supports the Virtual i-O VR headset. To use the headset simply connect and turn on your headset before starting RealiView - the tracker will be detected automatically. If the tracker detection routines cause any problems on your system you can disable them by using the /v option on the command line - 'rmdview /v file.rbs' which will cause RealiView to not search for the headset. Pressing 'H' at any time will re-level the tracker.
