The AMD-K6 is the latest generation of AMD�s successful processor product line. The AMD-K6 processor features a superscalar architecture, MMX technology, 64KB primary L1 cache, high performance floating point and 3D graphics acceleration.

Advanced Design:

The AMD-K6 processor is the most advanced Windows compatible processor available. The key to the AMD-K6 processor�s leading-edge performance is its advanced, six-issue RISC86 superscalar microarchitecture, the industry�s most sophisticated x86 processor design. The RISC86 microarchitecture�s decoupled decode/execution superscalar design provides enhanced sixth-generation performance and full x86 binary software compatibility. A key performance-enhancing feature is the extra-large, 64-Kbyte on-chip L1 cache - twice the size of the L1 cache used in the Pentium with MMX technology. State-of-the-art design techniques include multiple x86 instruction decode, single-clock internal RISC operations, out-of-order execution, data forwarding, speculative execution, and register renaming.

Windows Compatibility:

The AMD-K6 processor is fully compatible with Windows 98, Windows 95, Windows NT, and 3.x operating systems, as well as other leading operating systems including MS-DOS , Novell , Netware , OS/2 Warp and Unix. It is also compatible with the installed base of more than 60,000 software applications, including the latest MMX enhanced software.
