  The Hypertext Database Compiler

    Purpose
Compiles the Data Text Files of a user created Hypertext Database.

    Description
To speed access to any part of the database, the Search Engine works
only with compiled files. Once created, Data Text Files must be compiled
with the Hypertext Database Compiler. The output files generated by the
compiler have the same names as the input files, and the extension .EHO.

  The Hypertext Database Menu Linker

    Purpose
Combines all the compiled source files of a Hypertext Database to
produce a single electronically indexed and cross referenced database,
with the menu structure defined by the menu link control file.

    Description
Linking stitches together all the source files of a database with the
menu structure defined in the menu control file. The result is a single
file compatible with the Expert Help Search Engine.

The input to the Menu Linker is a single menu link control file. The
output is a single database file with the same name as the input
    file, and the extension .EH.

  The Hypertext Database De-Compiler

    Purpose
Breaks any Expert Help or Norton Guides database into its original
    Data Text Files.

    Description
The Hypertext Database De-Compiler is part of the Database Composer and
is will break a Norton Guides or Expert Help Hypertext Database into its
individual text file components that make up the Hypertext Database.
Once de-compiled you can add modify, or delete information. A batch file
is created during the de-compiling process that makes re-compiling a
    breeze.
