&W        &W is the infamous traumatic write.  Whatever commands
          you have sent to your modem will henceforth be
          remembered as the default power on condition.  Do not
          use this command in your modem init string.  You should
          avoid using this command as much as possible.  You can
          only use it a limited number of times without burning
          out your modem.  If you accidentally burn in the wrong
          commands, the &F command might get you back to factory
          defaults.
