[About The Guide]
Configuration
This dialog box allows you to set a number of configuration
options. Use the cursor keys to move to the option you want
to change, then use the Space bar to change an option.
[ ] Auto menus
When this option is checked, the User menus appear
automatically when the Commander first starts. The User
menus will also reappear automatically after you run a User
menu command.
[x] Path prompt
This option controls whether the DOS command line shows just
the drive letter, or the drive letter plus the current path.
[x] Key bar
This option controls whether or not the function key bar at
the bottom of the screen is visible.
[ ] Menu bar visible
Normally the menu bar is visible only as long as you're
selecting an item from it. Check this option to keep the
menu bar always visible on the screen.
[x] Full screen
This option controls the size of the Left and Right panels.
When checked, the panels' size will be full screen's height.
[ ] Clock
This option, when checked, turns on a clock in the upper
right corner of the Commander's screen.
[x] Confirmation on quit
When this option unchecked, the Quit command (F10) works
immediately without confirmation dialog box.
[x] Error sound
This option enables or disables beep sound when different
error messages appear.
[x] Auto save setup
When this option is checked, the Commander will remember
exactly how you set it up.
[x] Show logical drive B:
This option controls whether or not logical drive B: is
shown on computers with one floppy drive.
[x] Memory allocation
This option selects the full-resident or small mode of the
Commander.
[ ] Quick execute commands
Check this option to execute DOS's commands without using
the COMMAND.COM file. If you have some problems, uncheck
this option.
[x] TSR manager
Uncheck this option to disable TSR manager. You would not be
able to remove resident programs from Memory info screen
(Alt+F5). Also, the Commander would not unload TSR programs
on exit.
[x] Alt alone selects menu
The Commander normally uses Alt key taps to activate
pulldown menus. Uncheck this option if you have an Alt key
conflict with a TSR.
[x] Esc toggles panels on/off
This option allows you to enable or disable usage of Escape
key just like Ctrl-O to toggle panels on/off.
[x] Alternative viewer
Swaps two functional keys F3 and Alt-F3 to call built-in or
external viewer. When checked, F3 invokes external viewer.
[x] Alternative editor
Swaps two functional keys F4 and Alt-F4 to call built-in or
external editor. When checked, F4 invokes external editor.
[x] Clear keyboard buffer
When this option is set the Commander clears keyboard buffer
before asking some critical questions.
