[About The Guide]
Configuration...
This dialog box allows you to set a number of configuration
options. Use the cursor keys to move to the option you want
to change, then use the Space bar to change an option. Press
Enter to accept the dialog box.
+ Screen colors ------+ This option allows you to choose
| ( ) Black & White | whether or not to use colors. Use
| (.) Color | the laptop option if you're using a
| ( ) Laptop | laptop computer that can't show
+---------------------+ colors.
+ Screen blank delay -+ This option controls the delay
| ( ) 40 minutes | before the Commander blanks your
| ( ) 20 minutes | screen when no keyboard or mouse
| ( ) 5 minutes | activity occurs. Choose Off to keep
| ... | the screen from blanking.
+---------------------+
Hint: To blank the screen immediately, move the mouse
into the upper right corner. Move the mouse to the
lower right corner to keep the screen from blanking.
[x] Ins moves down
When checked, the cursor bar will move down after you select
a file with the Ins key.
[x] Auto change directory
When checked, moving the cursor bar in a tree panel will
change to that directory after a short delay. If this option
is not checked, you'll have to press Enter in the tree panel
to change directory.
[ ] Menu bar always visible
Normally the menu bar is visible only as long as you're
selecting an item from it. Check this option to keep the
menu bar always visible on the screen.
[x] Auto save setup
When this option is checked, the Commander will remember
exactly how you set up the Commander, even after you turn
off your computer. Uncheck this option if you don't want the
Commander to remember so well (in which case you'll need to
use Shift+F9 to save the settings).
[x] Zooming boxes
Checking this option causes dialog boxes and windows to
"open up" from the center. If you prefer otherwise, just
remove the check from this option.
[ ] Left-handed mouse
Swaps the left and right mouse buttons, which is useful if
you have the mouse on the left side of your computer instead
of the right.
[ ] Fast mouse reset
On some computers (e.g. a PS/2 or COMPAQ with a mouse
connected to the built-in mouse port) there will be a delay
of several seconds before the Commander appears after you
run a DOS command. Check this option to reduce this delay.
