Note on Macro System 2.0 command PutText$ ========================================= (Date: 8/20/94) The information provided below is relevant to the users of Macro System 2.0 who own a localized S3a version other than ENG or USA. The problem has to do with the PutText function which has a hard-coded Psion-B keystroke to initiate the Bring request in other applications. This keystroke may be different on non-English machines. It is very simple to patch MACRO.OPA with a hex editor. If you don't already have a hex editor, there is one called Dump3a which you can download from CompuServe or src.doc.ic.ac.uk. To patch MACRO.OPA follow these steps: 1. Make sure your MACRO.OPA is 34,851 bytes in size. 2. Open it in a hex editor and go to location $5F5C. 3. At location $5F5C you should find a letter "b" ($62 hex). 4. Change it to the letter that is used to initiate Bring on your machine. E.g., Psion-J initiates Bring on German machines. In this case, you would replace "b" with "j" (lowercase) The bug will be fixed in the next release of Macro System. T O M
