Other BIOS Related Sites
Here is a short list of useful links to BIOS related pages
(any suggestions about new sites are welcome):
Other types of information available on the Internet:
- The ibm.pc.hardware. Frequently Asked Questions at
rtfm.mit.edu (FTP); directory:
/pub/usenet/news.answers/csiph-faq; filenames: part1 to
part5. It contains a wealth of information about computer
hardware.
- The comp.answers
newsgroup contains a lot of FAQs related to numerous
types of hardware and software.
- The comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware.chips
newsgroup contains an ongoing discussion about the BIOS,
microprocessors and motherboards.
- There is also a shareware named AMISETUP (written by
Robert Muchsel) that enables BIOS settings and provides
an on-line reference (for registered versions). It can
even let you access some settings that could not be
accessed otherwise. You can find it at SIMTEL mirror
sites such as ftp.wustl.edu
or oak.oakland.edu in
the /systems/ibmpc/msdos/sysutil directory. The file name
is AMISE270.ZIP.
