Office
2000: The Top 10 List
|
Take the Office XP Tour
#1
No more jumping back and forth to cut and paste between
different documents. Collect and Paste makes it
easy to copy up to 12 pieces of information from any
Office documents, then paste them, either one at a time
(in any order) or all at once, into another document.
|
#2
Now there are fewer steps involved when you want to
send a document in e-mail. Rather than launching an e-mail
application and attaching the file, just click the new Office
E-mail button on your toolbar within any Office 2000
application to e-mail your document. And your document is
sent in HTML format, so any recipient can view it.
|
|
#3
Preview font styles before you choose them, using the
new WYSIWYG (what-you-see-is-what-you-get) font
pull-down menu in all Office 2000 applications. No more
trial and error trying to find a font you like. Now it's
quick and easy to select the best font, even if you don't
know its name.
|
|
#4
The QuickFind
Contact tool on the Microsoft Outlook
toolbar makes it easy to find and open a contact, no
matter where you are in Outlook 2000. Just type part of a
person's name in the QuickFind box, press ENTER, and
Outlook will bring your contact right up.
|
|
#5
The new tri-pane
view in Microsoft PowerPoint
allows you to add slides, double-check your outline, edit
and reformat text, and type commentsall in one combined
view. You don't have to navigate between slides to keep
track of your points, so it takes less time to create your
presentation.
|
|
#6
Manage your
inbox easily and efficiently using the Organize tool
in the Microsoft Outlook 2000
e-mail and information manager. Set rules that file
incoming messages automatically, filter out junk mail, and
apply unique font colors to predefined messages so they
stand out. Then apply those rules to instantly clean up
information that already exists. You can also select
different views to sort your messages by priority, who
sent the message, or other criteria you choose.
|
|
#7
Simply select
the new Save as Web Page option on the File menu,
and Office 2000 automatically saves your Office document
to HTML format for easy posting to your intranet or
Internet site. Because anyone with a Web browser can view
HTML files, you can now share information with anyone,
anywhereregardless of what software they use.
|
|
#8
Perform more
extensive data analysis using the rich tools in Microsoft
Excel 2000. Get new visual charting capabilities with
Microsoft PivotChart dynamic views, as well as
Microsoft PivotTable dynamic
views, which are easier than ever to create and use. With
Excel 2000, you are better able to make more informed,
timely decisions.
|
|
#9
Office 2000 self-repairing
applications search for missing or corrupted files and
repair them automaticallyso you can focus on your work,
not your software.
