SnapShot 3 Installation Notes Introduction: SnapShot 3 is an easy-to-use screen capture for Windows. SnapShot 3 works like a camera. When you Load Film, your right mouse button becomes your shutter for capturing images. Once the right button is activated you can take a screen capture at any time. You do not need to switch back and for between SnapShot 3 and your other applications. You can take a screen capture of any window, any dialog, the entire desktop, icons, menus as well as any portion of the screen. You can set SnapShot 3 to automatically copy each screen capture to the clipboard or a file. SnapShot 3 supports access from other applications as a server via Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE). Client applications can setup SnapShot 3 as well as perform screen captures via DDE commands. Also, Client applications can request or setup advise connections for the current screen capture. Other features include: A Toolbar for easy access to commands. A Status Line displaying imformation about the current capture. The ability to Save and Open bitmap files. During a save you can modify the dimensions of the capture for size (original, stretched to client size or full screen) and type (monochrome, 16 color, 256 color or 24bpp). The ability to Print screen captures. A variety of options such as: Automatically Load Film. Restore after capture. Hide during capture. Capture only the client area. Automatically copy to clipboard. Ignore Right Button in Client Area. For more information about these and more please review the manual or the on-line help. Installation: To load the program use the INSTALL program on the installation disk. From within Windows select File/Run on the Program Manager menu. Enter A:Install or B:Install depending on which drive you have inserted the installation disk. Select the Ok button. The Installation program will prompt you for a destination directory for the SnapShot 3 files. Select Ok when done. The installation program will copy all of the necessary files to the destination choosen. When done copying the installation program will add a new Program Group to Program Manager. In the group Icons will be setup for SnapShot 3. Word For Windows Macros: The file SNPSHOT3.DOT has been copied from the installation disk to the same directory as SnapShot 3. It is a Word For Windows template which contains macros demonstrating interfacing Word and SnapShot 3 via DDE. Copy SNPSHOT3.DOT to your Word For Windows directory if you would like to use it.
