Troubleshooting


General

If Navigate with an Accent is not operating the way it should, the first thing to check is whether it is compatible with the version of Netscape Navigator(TM) that you are running. Navigate with an Accent is designed to run with Netscape Navigator (TM) 2.0 - 3.0 and Netscape Navigator Gold (TM) 2.0 - 3.0.

You should also refer to Accent’s installation instructions and make sure that you installed Accent correctly. Several possible sources of difficulty are:

Opening Files

If you cannot open a file, you should first try opening the file in Netscape without Accent. The problem may simply be that the server is overloaded or out of service. If you succeed in opening the file in Netscape, try the following:

Displaying Server Messages

You can set up Navigate with an Accent to display server messages. These are messages from the server you have tried to contact which give the reason for the failure to establish a connection. They are often more detailed than Accent’s error message.

To display server messages:

  1. From the Options menu, select General Preferences.
  2. From the list box at the bottom of the Preferences box, select Miscellaneous.
  3. Select Show Server Messages.
  4. Click OK.

Displaying Technical Information

To Display technical information about Navigate with an Accent:

  1. From the Help menu, select About Navigate with an Accent.
  2. Click Support.
