Peperomia species

Peperomia is sold in a tremendous variety of forms, each with distinctive foliage.  A few species produce flowers shaped similar to a rat's tail.

Light
Expose to medium (bright indirect) light.  Avoid full sun.  Plant tolerates less light, but variegated species lose coloring in low light.

Water
Allow soil surface to dry between thorough waterings.  Keep soil barely moist October through February.  Avoid sogginess, which causes root rot.  Mist.  Raise humidity.

Temperature
Maintain temperatures of 55 to 75 degrees.

Comments
Feed every 14 days with mild solution.  Prune to maintain shape.  Remove flowers in most varieties.  Propagate by tip cuttings of vining varieties and leaf cuttings of non-vining types.
