Kalanchoe 
Also called Christmas kalanchoe
(Kalanchoe blossfeldiana)

Christmas kalanchoe boasts clusters of star-like flowers that stay in bloom night and day.  Blossom colors include scarlet, orange, and yellow.

Light
Place in high light (southern exposure) for full flower color.  Strictly control light conditions in fall.

Water
Allow soil to dry out between thorough waterings.  Water less during fall dormancy, but never allow leaves to wither.

Temperature
Maintain cool temperatures for best growth.  Tolerates average temperatures.

Comments
Feed every 14 days from spring to fall.  Remove spent blossoms.  Pinch back for more compact plant.  Plant must have total darkness 14 hours a day for three to four weeks in the fall.  Some insecticides kill this plant, so read labels carefully.  Propagate by seed or tip or leaf cuttings.
