German Ivy Also called parlor ivy, or water ivy (Senecio mikanioides) Easy to grow and ideal for hanging baskets, German ivy has the same soft look as English ivy. Light Place in high light (southern exposure) during winter and medium (bright indirect) light rest of year. If possible, place outdoors during summer in filtered light. Water Let soil surface dry out between thorough waterings. Don't let soil around roots dry out; may be fatal. Mist daily. Keep humidity high. Temperature Maintain temperatures into mid-50s at night for best growth. Tolerates average temperatures. Comments Pot up each February if root-bound. Use porous soil. Feed every 14 days during active growth; feed less in late fall and winter. Pinch growing tips continually to create bushiness. Remove leaves as they die. Propagate by tip cuttings rooted in water or moist rooting medium.
