Balfour Aralia
(Polyscias balfouriana)

A woody plant, balfour aralia is grown for its foliage and unusual shape.  Related varieties vary in height, but rarely grow more than 20 feet tall.  All have a striking texture.

Light
Place in medium (indirect) light.  Tolerates full sun for several hours a day.

Water
Keep moist at all times.  Mist daily.  Raise humidity.

Temperature
Maintain temperatures as high as 80s during the day and not less than 62 degrees at night.  Avoid drafts.

Comments
Plant in a large container; a redwood tub works well.  Fertilize every 14 days with a mild solution during active growth.  Clean leaves monthly with warm water.  Water and feed less during winter.  Propagate by root division, stem cuttings, or air layering.
