Carnation
(Dianthus)

Double flowers, 2 to 3 inches across.  Florist types borne on wiry stems 16 to 24 inches high; bush forms are 12 to 14 inches high.  Bicolors, whites, yellows, reds.

Soil and Light
Full sun.  Light soil kept moist.

Planting
Sow indoors 10 weeks before last frost.  Will last several years in mild climate.

Comments
Use bush varieties as bedding and edge plants.  Keep cutting both types for continuous bloom.
