The Align & Size dialog box enables you to align selected object(s)
on a Work Page. If you have selected a group of objects, then alignment is
applied to the group. The Align feature aligns objects within Work Sheet
boundaries indicated with a thin border line inside Work Page area.
This dialog box contains two tabs - Alignment and Size. These enable you to change alignment and size of
object(s).
The Alignment tab may have one or two subfolder tabs. If
you have selected only one object, the Alignment folder will have only the Entire selected group subfolder tab. If you have selected more
than one object, the Alignment folder will additionally have the Objects
inside of group subfolder tab.
The Entire selected group tab enables you to change
alignment of your entire selection. If you have selected one object, then this object
will be your single selection. If you have selected more than one object, the program will consider all
selected objects as a multiple selection and apply alignment to this combined object. This
tab contains the Horizontal and Vertical sections. These enable you to apply horizontal
and vertical alignments to an object or group of objects.
Horizontal section includes five options:
-
No Changes. No alignments applied.
- Left. Similar to left justification. It aligns an object to the left of
Work Page.
- Center. Centers an object on Work Page.
- Right. Similar to right justification. It aligns an object to the right of
Work Page.
- Manual. Enables to enter customized alignment number in measurement units
set in the Preferences dialog box. (Click Preferences
in the File menu to change the settings.) This number defines an offset from the
left edge of Work Page.
Vertical section includes five options:
- No Changes. No alignments applied.
-
Top. Aligns an object to the top of Work Page.
- Center. Centers an object on Work Page.
-
Bottom. Aligns an object to the bottom of Work Page.
- Manual. Enables you to enter customized alignment number in measurement units set
in the Preferences dialog box. (Click Preferences
in the File menu to change the settings.) This number defines an offset from
the top of Work Page.
Objects inside of group tab enables you to apply alignment to
a whole group of objects. This subfolder tab is available when you
select more than one object. This tab contains two sections - Horizontal
and Vertical. These enable you to apply horizontal and
vertical alignments to objects selected as a group.
The Horizontal section includes five options:
- No Changes. No alignments applied.
- Left. Aligns all objects to the left border of the group.
- Center. Centers all the objects in the selected area.
- Right. Aligns all objects to the right border of the group.
- Sequenced. Aligns objects in succession.
Select Equalize to
keep the two outermost objects in
their positions. The remaining objects will be arranged equidistantly one from
another.
Select Manual to set the distance between the objects
manually. Distance is set in current measurement units. You can set the measurement units
in the Preferences dialog box.
The Vertical section includes five options:
- No Changes. No alignments applied.
- Top. Aligns all the objects regarding the top of selected group area.
- Center. Centers all the objects in selected area.
- Bottom. Aligns all objects regarding the bottom of selected group area.
- Sequenced. Aligns the objects in succession, one after another. Sequenced
alignment includes the Equalize and Manual options. If
you selected the Equalize option, the two outermost objects will stay in
their positions, and the remaining objects will be placed equidistantly one from another.
If you selected the Manual option, you will be able to set a distance between the objects
manually. Distance is set in current measurement units. You can set the measurement units
in the Preferences dialog box.
The Size tab contains two sections - Horizontal
and Vertical. These enable you to change the horizontal and
vertical sizes of objects.
The Horizontal section includes five options:

- Narrowest Object. Sets the widths of all objects in selection equal to
the width of the narrowest object. This option is not available if only one object
is selected.
- Widest Object. Sets the widths of all objects in selection equal to the
width of the widest object. This option is not available if only one object
is selected.
- Sheet Width. Sets the width of object equal to the work sheet width. If more than
one object is selected, then selection is treated as a single object.
- Manual. Enables you to set the width of object manually. If more than one object
is selected, then selection is treated as a single object. Width is set in current
measurement units. You can set the measurement units from the Preferences
dialog box.
The Vertical section contains five options:

tallest
object. This option is not available when only one object is selected.

measurement units. You can set the measurement units in the Preferences
dialog box.
To keep aspect ratio of a selection clear, put a checking mark in the Keep
Aspect Ratio check box. This is important especially in case the raster images are
aligned. They may blur if aspect ratio is changed.
