Makalolo luxury tented camp is situated in the vast Hwange National Park. This is the Africa of the hunters, writers and explorers of the last century. Today Hwange is legendary for its wonderful array of wildlife and massive herds of elephant and buffalo. The large custom made tents at Makalolo Camp are both convenient and comfortable with flush toilets and hot showers. The bar and lounge/dining area are thatched in the traditional Matabele style and are built around the giant limbs of an existing tree and blend in with the surrounding environment. A second-story observation deck overlooks a nearby vlei and water hole and is a perfect spot to witness a spectacular African sunset, prior to dinner around a roaring campfire. With great skill and in safety, your seasoned guides will lead you out on foot along game trails, through forest and vlei. There is challenge and discovery in following the tracks of elephant, buffalo and rhino. Hwange is also four-wheel territory. The specially modified land rovers are opened roofed, offering ideal opportunities for close up photography.
