Through workshops, individual counseling, publications, and videotapes, the SBA helps entrepreneurs understand and meet the challenges of starting a business, including financing, marketing and management. The SBA has business development specialists stationed in more than 100 field offices nationwide. Technical assistance, training and counseling also are offered by two partner organizations and numerous walk-in Business Information Centers.
SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CENTERS provide
training, counseling, research and other specialized assistance at nearly
1000 locations nationwide.
SBA's Business Information Centers (BIC's) provide
state-of-the-art computers, graphic workstations, CD-ROM technology and
interactive videos for accessing market research databases, planning and
spreadsheet software, and a vast library of information. With the BIC library
and software, you can craft your own business and marketing plans.
SBA's ONE STOP CAPITAL SHOPS gather
federal, state and local agencies and institutions in one convenient
location to address the financial and technical assistance needs of small
businesses.
