SBA helps small businesses enter and succeed in the global marketplace through counseling by international trade experts, training sessions and publications, business development information, and Matchmaker Trade Missions (co-sponsored with the U.S. Department of Commerce) to link U.S. firms with potential foreign buyers.
FEDERAL
GOVERNMENT PROCUREMENT ASSISTANCE
AND GRANTS:
We help small businesses secure their fair share of the billions of dollars in federal contracts awarded each year. Working closely with all federal agencies, we monitor and help increase both the dollar value and percentage or prime and subcontract awards to small firms. The SBA also provides information on how the Government buys which includes a list by state of prime contractors with their products/services, as a source for sub-contracting opportunities.
THE SMALL BUSINESS
INNOVATION RESEARCH (SBIR) PROGRAM:
The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program is a competitive 3-phase award system that provides qualified small business concerns with opportunities to propose innovative ideas that meet the specific research and R&D needs of the Federal Government as stated in each of the SBIR Program solicitations.
The Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Program is an important new small business program that expands funding opportunities in the federal innovation research and development arena.
INTERNATIONAL
TRADE:
To assist in expanding your business, the U.S. Small Business Administration through the resources of the Office of International Trade, provides financial and business development assistance to help small businesses take advantage of import and export markets.
