PBS ONLINE-Personal Library Software Alliance
On June 5, 1996, The
Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) and Personal Library Software Inc. (PLS)
announced an alliance to bring PLS's PLWeb search engine to PBS ONLINE«. PBS
and PLS are excited to participate in this alliance, which will enable visitors to
perform searches of more than 25,000 pages of content on PBS ONLINE, or conduct
narrower searches of content areas within the Web site. The PLWeb search engine
uses a variety of advanced features which will allow PBS ONLINE visitors to
search for information quickly and efficiently. In addition to conducting a search covering the entire PBS ONLINE site, visitors can
search special content areas, such as Frontline Online,the Online
NewsHour, PBS Adult Learning Service, and shopPBS.
