Our Web site is a place to post general information about nonprofit organizations, to post volunteer opportunities, to get information about involving volunteers via the Internet (Virtual Volunteering) and learn how to market volunteer opportunities online. Individuals can use the Impact Online site to find volunteer opportunities, and read our advice for volunteers.

COOL (Campus Outreach Opportunity League)

A national non-profit that helps college students start, strengthen and expand their community service programs. COOL holds an annual student-run conference attracting over 2,000 students, and its staff visit hundreds of college campuses giving workshops that encourage, promote and initiate programs that get students involved in service.

Newsgroups

Also called Usenet groups, newsgroups are Internet discussions, each dedicated to a particular topic. Newsgroups can be accessed via a news reader or via many Web browsers, such as Netscape. Messages are "posted" to the newsgroup, for everyone who subscribes to the newsgroup to see (it is free to subscribe to most newsgroups).

Mailing Lists

Internet mailing lists, also called list servs or list servers, are Internet discussions via email. Email messages go to a central point and are then "reflected" automatically back to all who subscribe to the list. It is free to subscribe to a mailing list.
