The Staff


Michael Chen Michael Chen    (mike@impactonline.org)
is the current webmaster at Impact Online and oversees the development and administration of the website. He has developed several web pages for classes in Computer Architecture at Stanford University. In his free time, Michael is living the life of a perpetual student, working towards a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering. He has received a B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering and a M.S. in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University.


Jayne Cravens Jayne Cravens    (jayne@impactonline.org)
is the program manager for Virtual Volunteering. Through her own company, Coyote Communications, Jayne has provided a variety of communications services and advice for both nonprofit and for-profit companies. She has conducted (and is still willing to conduct!) workshops on how nonprofit organizations and schools can utilize online technologies. She is a regular contributor to the USNonprofit Listserver and soc.org.nonprofit Internet discussion groups for not-for-profit professionals. She is originally from Henderson, Kentucky.


Pamela Hawley Pamela Hawley    (pamela@impactonline.org)
is west coast manager at Impact Online. Prior to joining Impact Online, Ms. Hawley was a consultant to nonprofit organizations and small business entrepreneurs in the area of marketing. Her past work experience includes P.R. account management at an integrated marketing firm, and sales experience in building a company to profit status. She has over 13 years of involvement in community service, including teaching a course in American Sign Language and the Deaf Culture at Duke University. She graduated with a B.A. in Political Science from Duke University (1991) and holds a Masters in Journalism from the Annenberg School for Communication at USC (1996).


Cindy Shove Cindy Shove    (cindy@impactonline.org)
is executive director of Impact Online. She is a co-founder and the source for the original idea for Impact Online. Her career in the nonprofit sector started as a consultant to Bay Area nonprofits. Previous experience includes co-founding Avalon Technologies, a successful technology distribution company, manager of strategic planning at Ault Foods, a large consumer goods company in Toronto, and vice-president of sales at Independent Paper, another entrepreneurial company. She has a B.A. in Economics and Political Science (1982) from the University of Western Ontario and an MBA (1993) from the University of Toronto.
