IMPACT ONLINE OFFERS FREE SERVICE FOR NONPROFITS LOOKING TO ESTABLISH A WEB PRESENCE

Local "Digital Dignitaries" host April 25 party to celebrate nonprofit database and enhanced Web site

PALO ALTO, Calif. - April 16, 1996 -- Continuing its efforts to turn good intentions into action, Impact Online today announced a new service beginning April 25 which enables nonprofit organizations to instantly establish a presence on the World Wide Web (Web). Impact Online, a registered nonprofit, will host logo, address and descriptive information on its nonprofit database, searchable by anyone visiting the Impact Online site at http://www.impactonline.org. For over a year, Impact Online has been uniting volunteers with a broad range of nonprofit organizations. Through its redesigned service and enhanced Web site, Impact Online enables concerned individuals to more easily and efficiently access information about potential volunteer opportunities.

To celebrate this new service and the redesign of Impact Online's Web page, a party will be held on Thursday, April 25 at the Ikonic Interactive office from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Ikonic is located at 2 Harrison Street, 7th Floor, San Francisco. Nonprofit Database Service

Impact Online's free service will allow resource-limited non-profits to utilize the Web's global communications medium free of charge, allowing their message to be accessed by millions of people, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

By simply filling out a form at http://www.impactonline.org, nonprofits can instantly establish a Web presence with their organization's logo, contact information, as well as a paragraph describing their mission. Listed organizations can also edit and update their database entries free of charge at any time. To ease the cost of Web access for nonprofits, Impact Online will assume all connection and other costs associated with running the nonprofit database.
