Talking With Your Parents

Who do you turn to when you have a question about a relationship, love or sex? Although it can be awkward to talk with your parents about these things, they do care and they can help. You can talk about what makes a good relationship or how to tell if someone really loves you.

Most parents want to talk with their children about these things. Some hesitate because they are embarrassed or don't know how to begin. Just like you.

Here are some questions which may help you start to talk with your parents:

  • How can I tell if I'm in love?
  • How do you know if a relationship is good for you?
  • How is growing up today different form when you grew up?
  • When do you know if you're ready for sex?

If talking with you family is difficult, there are special programs to help parents and teens talk with each other about these difficult subjects.
