Exploring Nature Funstation

Attention: If you have little explorers at home, you should be on the lookout for Exploring Nature Funstation – a science activity kit. Children who use the kits need to avoid contact with the enclosed compass which can leak kerosene and be inhaled or ingested. Although the kits are meant for children ages eight and older, a l6 month old child did ingest keresone and became sick. (These kits which have been on the market since March l996 contain a book and a number of items used to perform science projects including a magnifying glass, petri dish, crayons, a test tube and a thermometer. It is only the compass which needs to be "off limits.") Call the manufacturer, Price Stern Inc., for more information. (800-454-1625)
