1942: Campaign For Malaya

Scenarios

General Rule

Scenarios determine the overall situation of the game. The starting and ending turn, what units are available at start and later as reinforcements, available options, and the victory conditions.

Due to the relative small scale of the campaign, 1942: Campaign For Malaya offers only one scenario, the full campaign game. Variants can be easily simulated though by using optional rules or not.

Options

In this game, you can play what-if options, simulating various situations and decisions that could have happened historically (but did not for certain reasons). When starting a new scenario, each player has a one time chance to choose special options. This is done during the setup phase only.

Each option cost a certain amount of victory points.

Optional Units

Besides scenario options, players may also use extra units that did not take part in the historical campaign but that could have been able to enter as reinforcements. When available, optional units are proposed to the owning player ; the player has a one time chance to select those units. Any optional units that is not selected when available are permanently lost. Selected optional units enter as reinforcement during the next turn.

Each optional unit cost a certain amount of victory points.
