General Rule
Every hex on the map is either controlled by the Japanese or the Commonwealth Player. At the start of every scenario, every hex is either Japanese or Commonwealth controlled. As movement and combat occur, hex control may change from one side to the other.
Controlling Hexes
A player controls a hex if :
- His units occupy the hex
- His units were the last to occupy the hex
Hex control is automatically handled by the game mechanisms. At the end of every Movement & Combat Phases, units movements will determine the new owner of every hex.
Hex Control Effect
- Rail Movement paths may only be traced through controlled rail hexes
- Air Support range is calculated from the nearest controlled airfield
- The road / rail portion of the supply line may only be traced through controlled rail / road hexes
- The control of Singapore is essential for Victory purposes
