The Map
There are two representations of the game map: the Tactical Map and the Strategic Map. The Tactical Map provides the greatest level of detail of the terrain features, but both maps are fully playable.
You may switch between the two maps by using the Show / Hide Strategic Map command button.
Use one of the following methods to scroll the map:
- Drag the scroll box on the Mini-Map to a new location and release the mouse button.
- Click the left mouse button within the Map.
If "Auto Center On Map Click" is on, the map will center around this point.- Pressing the Left Mouse Button and the Alt Key at the same time and moving the mouse near the map edges will scroll the map
- Using the Numeric KeyPad (key 1 through 9) will scroll the map
Most operations are performed while the Tactical Map is displayed since its greater detail facilitates unit selection and movement. The Strategic Map is good for an overview of the strategic situation.
