Goldorak "Stuff"

Hey, I can't have a category for "everything", so here's some other Goldorak stuff of interest!

Goldorak merchandise

Here are some images of various Goldorak merchandise that I've found either on the net or sent to me by other Goldorak fans around the world.

Note: Unless otherwise noted, I do not know where to buy any of these items.
Goldorak was a part of the Shogun Warrior collection in some countries. On the left is a promotional poster from Mattel France with Goldorak prominently shown. On the right is an actual French Goldorak Shogun with box. Below is a close up of a European Goldorak Shogun box.

On the left: I actually own two of this particular Goldorak Shogun!
Another item that I own: On the right is a "Solar Saucer" Goldorak Shogun with seperating robot & saucer. The saucer actually fires small "Missiles Gammas".

Left and right: A Japanese riding toy based on Goldorak in saucer form.

Here is another item that I actually own. On the left is the box from an Italian snap-together Goldorak (Goldrake) model. I have not yet assembled this model - not sure if I'm even going to... However I found the image shown on the right of what the assembled model looks like. From what I understand of the Italian instructions, it appears that when built the model's fists fly out at the touch of a button.

Here's some brass-looking items that must be fun to own. A Goldorak keychain and Goldorak pin. the pin appears to be both Italian and Japanese.

Here is a Goldorak action figure from Japan. The actual toy is shown on the left and views of the front & back of the box are on the right.

And here we have some of the oddest Goldorak toys I've seen yet. When I first added these to my web page, I was unclear as to what they were! I've since been contacted by the good folks at JJ Models who manufacture and sell these and other Anime-related items! These particular oddities are called "super deformed" (a type of caricature) models of Goldorak and related characters. They are made of resin, and you build and paint them yourself. They're not very expensive, check them out!

In the top image you can see the three main season one villains - Hydargos, Grand Strateguerre, and Minos (whose face appears to be partially open - but there is no Minas in there...) - as well as the top of Goldorak's head. In the bottom image you can see more detail on the Goldorak doll, as well as what appears to be a Mazinger!

Goldorak In Strange Places

A French anti-nuclear poster drawn by none other than Go Nagai himself uses the Goldorak image.
"Trouble Maker" combined his Goldorak and ski-boarding interests into this unusual piece of artwork.
