However, when the fleet attacks a planet called Euphor, Actarus, the planet's Royal Prince, manages to escape the massacre and steal the mighty Goldorak! After days of being pursued, he finally manages to lose the Végans and crash-land on the planet Earth.

Actarus is soon adopted by Professor Procyon, and raised as a normal earthman. But meanwhile, Véga continues its plan of conquest, and their next target is: the Earth!

The typical episode of Goldorak shows a Vegan attack on Earth. Near the outset of the series, The Vegans were occupied with trying to determine where Goldorak's secret hiding place was. As the series progressed, the villains concentrated on trying to determine and exploit Goldorak's weaknesses...

In the final episodes, Actarus and his team manage to destroy the Grand Stratéguer and his war fleet. Actarus finally kisses Vénusia (his "will-he, won't-he" love interest through most of the series), during a sunset, on Goldorak's belt... Their teammates Fénicia and Alcor share a similar tender moment... and then Actarus and Fenicia depart in Goldorak for their former home planet Euphor, to rebuild it from the destruction inflicted by the végans. But they promise to return... someday...
