Kill The Spams v3.1 (W98/Me/NT/2000/XP)New 21-day trial |
|
software/windows/mail/kill_the_spams/
Kill The Spams is anti-spam software using a unique algorithm to detect unsolicited emails. You don't need to worry about building complex filters, nor do you need to maintain a list of spammers. Messages in your mailbox are checked and given scores – you can then set levels at which you are given the choice to delete or at which messages are automatically deleted.
In the case of mailing lists to which you subscribe, KTS lets you maintain a list of solicited messages – either by addresses, by domain or by subject. Some junk mail is not by definition spam, but you can also set up a list of unsolicited senders, with the 'No more from...' function.

Eudora v5.1 (W9x/2000/NT4) |
|
software/windows/mail/eudora5/
Eudora is a popular email application that will handle all your email needs. Eudora has three licensing options: Sponsored mode, Paid mode and Light mode. This single download can be set up in any one of these modes.
New features in this version include: SSL (Secure Socket Layer) support; Eudora Shell Extension cautions you about potential for introducing viruses when you try to run a file in your 'Attach' directory outside of Eudora; MIME digests are now handled in Eudora; in-line flagging of words or phrases identified by MoodWatch as potentially offensive; 'Strikeout' style button will cross out any selected text with a horizontal line; drag attachments out of messages and drop into other locations on your desktop.
The program manual is included on the CD (in the folder as above) in PDF (Adobe Acrobat) format.
In Sponsored mode, Eudora displays ads. It's fairly discreet and means you get the full power of Eudora for free. After a trial period, Eudora will ask you to profile yourself to continue to use the full free version, enabling it to display ads more relevant to your interests.
In Paid mode, Eudora does not display ads and you get the full power of Eudora, but you do have to pay.
In Light mode, Eudora has many fewer features, but is free of charge and without ads.

Mac OS
NOTE: The Mac programs are mostly in archived 'HQX' (BinHex) files – they can be extracted with several applications, including Stuffit Expander (which is on the CD...). Clicking on the links below should set the process in motion. You may receive a message that the file cannot be loaded into Simple Text — if so, start Stuffit and then open the HQX file you want from within Stuffit.
