BattleMail Soccer is one of a series of multiplayer email games from Battlemail.com. This is a totally simple yet potentially highly addictive little game. To get the full picture visit the Web site, but in short, you choose an opponent (someone you know or someone in the BattleMail 'community'), select five penalty shot and five penalty save attempts, email them to your opponent (who will do the same), wait for the result to be emailed back to you and then view the match! Now who needs to watch the World Cup when you've got this?

This utility allows you to convert Microsoft Access (MDB) databases to MySQL and vice versa. The program is extremely easy to use – a wizard guides you through defining your source and target databases and specifying a number of options. These options include the ability to copy only the database structure, overwrite existing tables or modify existing fields only. It supports all MS Access versions starting from MS Access 97, as well as all MS Access data types and attributes. It also works with all versions of Unix and Windows MySQL servers. Blubster is a peer-to-peer network with a new private protocol that works without a central server. Once the client program connects with another client, Blubster lets you search and download MP3 files from the network of users. Blubster is easy to use and gives you fast searches, quick and resumable downloads and support for cached files, chat, voice chat and more. Search for an MP3 file and Blubster will get all details of each search result, including quality, length and fingerprint. You can then choose which file to download. If you try to download a file you already have on your system, you can choose to resume, overwrite, rename or cancel the download.

ICQ ('I seek you') is a popular instant-messaging program that lets you communicate with friends and colleagues in real time. To seek out a friend on the ICQ network, simply enter his or her ICQ number, name, nickname, or email address. Once your contact list is set up, you'll be notified when your friends are online so that you can chat, send instant messages or files, play games and more.

This latest version features new file sharing options, the ability to pick and choose which features you want, improved support for working behind firewalls, the ability to access your contact list from any computer, two-way messaging with cell phones, and email integration. There is also now a spell checker for your messages.

NOTE: The Mac programs on this CD are mostly in archived 'HQX' (BinHex) files – they can be extracted with several applications, including Stuffit Expander (which is on the CD...). Clicking on the links below should set the process in motion. You may receive a message that the file cannot be loaded into Simple Text – if so, start Stuffit and then open the HQX (or other archve) file you want from within Stuffit.

Shareware – updated version

If you're not already familiar with Adobe's Portable Document Format (PDF) you will most likely come across PDF files at some time on the Web or elsewhere. We include Adobe's free Acrobat Reader on this CD for you to be able to view PDF files, but their PDF creation tool carries a hefty price tag.

However there is an alternative if you wish to create distributable documents (including layout, images, hyperlinks, etc.) on the cheap. PrintToPDF is a little shareware printer driver that allows you to create PDFs within many applications, simply by hitting the print button.

While PrintToPDF does not incorporate many of the features of Adobe Acrobat, it can be useful if you need to send documents to a variety of platforms, but have the documents look the same.

This update includes bug fixes and enhancements.

iCamMaster is an application that lets you collect and view Webcams. Collecting Webcams can be done using your preferred Web browser. Once collected, Webcams can be placed on your desktop with a simple drag-and-drop interface. iCamMaster periodically retrieves the latest picture for each Webcam, as determined by the owner of the Webcam. You can also send ICQ messages and emails to Webcams. In this update there is a new option to display Last Modified Date in local time instead of GMT, and torn-off Webcams can be edited.

Note: this version displays banners until registered and will ask you to register after the first 15 minutes of each use.
