WebCam2000
v1.62

(W9x/ME/2000/NT/XP)

Free

software/windows/multimed/webcam2000/

Note: this program does not require installation – to use it, simply copy the folder as above from the Internet Magazine CD to your Hard Drive and run the program file webcam2000.exe from there. See the page webcamdoc.html for more information.

WebCam2000 is freely distributed open source software that serves images from any video capture device connected to a computer. WebCam2000 can serve pictures as either JPEG or bitmap (BMP) and can include complete HTTP headers or serve the image 'raw'. The second case is particularly useful when you want to perform further processing on the image, for example by using WebCam2000 as a back-end to a CGI script. One important thing to note is that WebCam2000 is for people with a live Internet connection only: the current version does not have the ability to dial-up an ISP and upload an image via FTP – it serves the images live as users request them.
