To open a message, double-click on its message summary, or press Enter on the highlighted message summary. The incoming message window is then displayed. The title bar provides information about the message, including the name of the sender, the time and date the message was delivered, and the message subject.
The icon bar consists of a series of objects that are displayed just under the title bar. In Eudora Pro, these include the BLAH,BLAH,BLAH icon, the Trash icon, the Fetch icon, the Priority pop-up, and the Subject field. Eudora Light includes some, but not all, of these objects.
Note: Some of these icons appear only for certain messages.
The following table describes these icons and pop-ups.
Icon Name | Description |
---|---|
BLAH,BLAH,BLAH |
Displays all of the message headers.
(Eudora Pro only)
Note: These message headers may be useful when tracking down a network problem. |
Trash |
Manually deletes messages that are left on the server.
Click on this icon if you want the current message
deleted from the server on the next mail check.
(Eudora Pro only)
This icon does not appear if the message is no longer on the server. |
Fetch |
Downloads messages that exceed the specified
size when the Skip messages over ? K option in the Options dialog
(Checking Mail) is turned on.
Click on this icon and then check
mail again to download the complete message.
(Eudora Pro only)
This icon does not appear if the message is no longer on the server or the entire message has been downloaded from the server. |
Priority |
Displays the message priority. For most messages, this is just an empty box (normal priority). This example shows a message of highest priority. If you want to indicate that this message is of higher or lower priority than a normal message, use this pop-up. |
Subject |
Displays the message subject that was assigned by the sender. |
