North American customers can choose from over 450 56K technology capable local dial access numbers. IBM Internet Connection Services offers enhanced e-mail that allows each individual to create a personal e-mail ID up to 32 characters long. Create and read e-mail without having to be connected; you just need a brief connection to exchange mail with our service. You can even automatically forward incoming e-mail to another ID at no extra charge.

IBM Internet Connection Services offers competitive pricing plans in local currencies around the world. To make payment easy, IBM Global Services accepts the following major credit cards: American ExpressÆ, Diners ClubÆ, DiscoverÆ Card, JCB, MasterCardÆ, NovusÆ and VisaÆ.

Customers in the United States receive a 30 hour or 30 day (whichever comes first) free trial* and can choose from one of two pricing plans: $19.95 for 100 hours of access with $1.95 for each additional hour or $4.95 for 3 hours of access with $1.95 for each additional hour**.

Canadian customers receive a 10 hour or 30 day (whichever comes first) free trial* and may choose from one of two plans: $9.95 for 5 hours of access with each additional hour at $2.00 or $29.95 for 100 hours of access with each additional hour at $2.00**.

*Long distance charges apply to those outside local dial access areas. A $6.00 US/$13.00 CDN per hour surcharge applies to 1-800 usage. These charges are not waived during the trial period.

Before using IBM Internet Connection Services, please make sure you have the following recommended system requirements:

  • IBM compatible PC with 486 microprocessor or higher
  • Mouse or compatible pointing device
  • A 14.4 KBPS modem or greater
  • 16 MB of random access memory (RAM)
  • 20 MB of free hard disk space
  • Windows 95TM or Windows NT

Registration with IBM Internet Connection Services

  1. Follow the instruction prompts that appear on your screen to install IBM Internet Connection Services.
  2. Click on I would like to open a personal account.
  3. Your computer will connect to the IBM Global Network and you will be prompted to complete your registration on-line using your Web browser.
  4. Please provide all requested information.
  5. Select a service plan and user ID that best suits your needs.
  6. Your account is created and you receive an account ID, user ID and password.
