WinBench test points to wrong video clip

We've found an error in the table that drives the WinBench 98 video tests. The "Indeo 4.1, 320x240, 30fps, 300Kb/Sec, Zoomed" test is pointing to the Indeo 3.2 clip. Therefore it is giving the same results as the "Indeo 3.2, 320x240, 30fps, 300Kb/Sec, Zoomed" test.

ZD publications generally use the 640x480 stress clips (rather than 320x240) for their comparative reviews, so this is probably not an issue for most folks. However, if you want to use the "Indeo 4.1, 320x240, 30fps, 300Kb/Sec, Zoomed" test, you can work around the problem by using the User Supplied Video Test with the following settings:

  • Number of Simultaneous Video Clips=1
  • Make all clips the same
  • Filename: d:\VIDEO98\l4320s3.avi (where d is the letter of your CD-ROM drive)
  • Scale to display size
  • Align on 8-pixel boundary
  • DO NOT Overlay with clipping window
