Amadeus II is designed to allow users to process sounds easily on a Macintosh. It provides tools to facilitate the reduction of background noise and the generation of precise sonograms and spectrum analyses, and it includes many standard features such as filters and echoing. It also allows users to synthesise sounds from a library of waveforms. Version 2.12 featured direct-to-disk capabilities, 24-bit sampling rates, added compression formats, a new user interface and bug fixes. Version 2.3 adds new direct-to-disk abilities, multiple undoing, and multiple scraps.
