Macast (formerly MacAMP) is an MP3 and audio CD player for the Macintosh. MP3 audio compression makes it possible to compress large audio files to just 10% of their original size, with no audible loss of quality. Macast features a clean interface, support for a variety of skins, visual plug-ins, and full playlist capabilities. It also includes a 10-band graphic equaliser, an ID3 tag editor, and support for Shoutcast and Icecast audio streams. Version 1.0 improves streaming audio quality, adds a 'Save Stream to File' option, includes new playlist features and fixes bugs. The shareware registration fee for Macast is $25. Macast 1.0 is the final non-beta release of MacAMP
