XMMS (X MultiMedia System), previously known as X11amp, is a multiformat audio player featuring a user interface familiar to Winamp users. It is capable of playing WAV, AU, MOD, MIDI, and MP3 files, and CD audio. It can also play streaming Shoutcast and Icecast audio, and HTTP streams can be saved. It has skins and supports Winamp 2.x skins. It works on most Unix systems with OSS sound, and on Intel OSS-compatible systems. XMMS is distributed under the GNU GPL.
