Stroke

The stroke is a line around the perimeter of shapes in a drawing. You can modify the stroke for shapes.

 

Basic Stroke Options

 

Click a shape with the Selection tool. You will see the basic stroke settings on the editing panel.

 

 

To turn the stroke on or off, click the Stroke check box.

 

To change the color of the stroke, click the Color box. Choose a color from the palette, or click a color and drag over the canvas to select a color from the drawing.

 

To change the width of the stroke, use the Width slider. Move the slider to the right to make the stroke thicker; move it to the left to make the stroke thinner.

 

 

Additional Stroke Options

 

Click the Edit button next to the stroke button on the editing panel to see all of the stroke options.

 

Use the On and Off radio buttons to turn the stroke on or off.

 

Use the Type radio buttons to choose the appearance of the stroke. The types of stroke include:

 

Simple

 

Dotted

 

Wave

Modern

 

The dotted, wave, and modern strokes all have options you can set. The options will appear when you select the stroke type.

 

Use the Width slider to set the thickness of the stroke.

 

Use the Join radio buttons to choose how the stroke is joined at nodes in the shape. The join options include:

 


Round


Bevel

Miter

 

Use the Cap radio buttons to choose how the ends of a stroke appears. The cap types include:

 


Round


Square

None

 

 

Click the Color box and use the palette to choose a color for the stroke.

 

Use the Opacity slider to set the opacity for the stroke. This does not affect the opacity of the shape.

 

Click the Go Back button when you are finished modifying the stroke settings.
