The Menu Settings Tab

DigiTV provides you with the means to customise the colour and appearance of the many information overlays that can be presented using this settings tab:



As you change each of the overlay settings, you will see an immediate preview of the effect shown in the example window.

The DigiTV installation disk provides a number of default bitmaps you can use as backgrounds to your overlays and they can be found in the .../nebula/digitv/backgrounds/ directory. Of course you're not limited to the bitmaps that we provide - you can set any image to be the background - just don't make it too large or it will take a long time to draw. Bitmaps are always stretched to fit the dimensions of the window at the time.

Style

This option allows you to specify whether the background used in the DigiTV main menu (and on screen displays) should be a single colour, a graduated fill or a bitmap graphic. If you select either the single or graduated fill options, you will then be able to use the Background From/To options to specify the colours you prefer.

If you choose the bitmap option, then you can use the 'Browse' option to locate the graphic you wish to use.

Size

A few of the DigiTV overlays are scalable to make their displayed size range from 80% to 120% of the default size.

The affected overlays are the most commonly used (eg Now/Next, Programme Description, Channel Number etc) and this facility has been designed to allow easier reading of the information at a distance when made larger, or to have less screen space taken for close-up-work.

Show Now/Next on channel change

You can choose not to have the Now & Next information bar appear at the bottom of the screen each time you change channel by deselecting this option.


Now/Next Time on Screen

This setting controls how long the Now & Next overlay is displayed before they are automatically removed. You can set this option high or low depending on whether you are a slow or fast reader.
