Sibilant Biography
Amsterdam-born and bred Lorenzo Zoeter discovered dance music in Belgium
in the late 80’s. As a result of that he started Dj-ing. From there discovered that making
music was much more interesting. After several years of boring the neighbours, record labels started calling.
Started releasing on Amsterdam’s M-Track and Dutch Rams Horn in 1996 and
soon afterwards on Blue Room Records UK, Symbiosis Music. He has previously
been involved in "Metal spark" with two friends. Their latest release is the
album "corrosive", released 1998 on Blue Room Records.
Decided to persue solo career, signed album deal with Symbiosis Music, the
result of which is "Proper Filth" - a variety of styles of music -
Now, built himself a new purpose-built studio, where he will be working on
the next album.

Sibilant, a review

Amsterdam-born and bred Lorenzo Zoeter is the creative brain behind Metal
Spark, who has another project alongside this which is perhaps even more
interesting. Because of his reputation as a psy-trance producer, a review in
the Trance category is justified. Certainly also because of the first track
"It's a Nappy" from his album, the middle track "Noisefarm", and lastly
"Screecher Creature". Their mutated rhythms, however, make clear reference
to his genre.

But what's going on in-between is not so easy to categorise, as we
journalists so love to do. His mixture of psy-trance and drum & bass is an
exciting amalgamation with no comparison (psy-drum & bass=drum & space?).
However, you could compare Sibilant's pioneering mind to that of the great
Speedy J, despite their musical differences.

Computer whiz-kid and sound magician Zoeter wrote the album in his second
floor flat, an album which will cause an international stir. And, to all
those psy-trance purists who claim that only a 4/4 beat works hypnotically,
this will make them eat their words. 'Proper Filth' will be one of the
crackers of 1998.
