Security Settings Introduction

Security settings are rules defined by Prevx to protect your computer from attack.

Each setting contains rules for monitoring critical aspects of system behavior and attacks can be detected and blocked as required.

Although new attacks can appear daily, the underlying mechanisms (known as 'attack vectors') used by these attacks are relatively few. Detecting these attack vectors by analyzing behavior rather than by using signatures, Prevx Home can defeat both known and unknown (known as 'zero-day') attacks.

A signature is a pattern built from a known set of characteristics, and therefore requires the attack vector to have a previous record for it to be recognized.

You can determine how Prevx Home responds choosing to ignore the attack, or specifying the action to take.
