Responding to Events |
When Prevx detects suspicious behavior it generates an Event message. Basically, you then need to decide whether to allow or deny the action.
Before you decide which action to take, consider these points (this is not intended to be a full list):
Are you installing or updating any software, including automatic web updates?
When a program is installed or updated, key files are usually overwritten or replaced. These files are protected by Prevx Home. If you are certain that the Event relates to a genuine installation being carried out by you, then you could allow the action. You should also consider that you may have automatic updating set. For example, Windows update.
Are you changing any program configuration, settings or preferences?
The same advice as the previous point applies here. For example, changing the default home page for Internet Explorer (IE) will generate an Event. The IE default home page setting is stored in the registry, so if it you are not making this change, then it is considered suspicious. In this case, you could deny the action.
