After using Opera for some time, an advertising banner appears in the user interface. You can either:

Specify advertising preferences, and receive ads that fit your interests
Leave the advertising preferences unspecified, and receive a generic selection of advertisements

This information is used to find interesting ads for you. The information is not used for other purposes.
