Preferences

EyeBatch Preferences can be changed by going to the Edit:Preferences menu.

  • Automatically set preview image when selecting image will allow the user to select an image in the "Select Images" tab and use that for the preview image. In order to manually select a preview image, this must be turned off. (default = unchecked)
  • Preview each image on execute will display a preview of the image during processing. This will slow down the batch process. (default = unchecked)
  • Default Preview Image sets the image to be used as the preview when the preview image is reset. Leave blank to use the program default.

  • Show image in image operation forms will show the image at the current state in many of the image operation forms. A few forms require the entire image to be processed which could take a few seconds if the preview image is large and this is selected. (default = checked)
  • Image reflects source image instead of current image state will show the source image when viewing the settings of an image operation. This eliminates the need for a partial update each time the settings are viewed. Left unchecked, the settings forms will show the image state at the position of the selected image operation. (default = unchecked)

  • Smart Image processing will prevent processing an image if there are no image operations (besides filename) and the source and destination image formats are identical. This only takes into account any changes in bit depth. It does not take into account other Image Output settings such as background color, interlacing, JPEG smoothing, etc. The benefit to this setting is it will only load the image into memory when necessart, thereby speeding up processing type conversions where the file formats are the same (default = unchecked)
  • Smart JPEG Processing goes a step further then Smart Image processing by actually detecting if the source and destination images are the same. For example, it will prevent processing a JPEG if there is a resize operation and the destination image size is identical to the source image size. This is beneficial because it will copy the image instead of re-saving it thereby eliminating unecessary lossy quality reductions when re-saving a JPEG. One reason to deselect this is to resave a JPEG image at a different quality or smoothing setting. This might be required when optimizing the filesize of a JPEG. Note, with only this setting checked, the JPEG will be loaded into memory when processing.(default = checked)
  • Save Image Output Settings will save all image output settings to the registry so that the latest output settings will be used unless otherwise modified. (default = unchecked)

  • Format EXIF String will convert and format EXIF values and dates. (default = checked)

Restore Defaults will restore the preferences, and all user settings to the defaults
