Atalasoft has acquired a license under US Patent No. 4,558,302 and foreign counterparts from Unysis corporation to include GIF and LZW TIFF read and write support.

The LZW compatible version is strictly forbidden to run on a web server. Also, it can not be used for writing or publishing GIF or LZW TIFF images to a network drive that is located on a web server.

For this reason, a Non-LZW version available for download from Atalasoft can be used to run on a web server. By registering EyeBatch, you may use either version as registration will work for both. To determine which version you are running, look in the about menu. The Non-LZW version will state "LZW disabled version".

GIF and LZW TIFF images generated from EyeBatch may be legally uploaded or copied to a web server using any Microsoft product. It is only prohibited that EyeBatch, and other non-Microsoft applications directly generate images onto a web server without the user obtaining his or her own Unisys License.

We suggest using PNG images whenever possible as a replacement to GIF's.
