Image Overlay
Overlay one image on top of another. Select the image you wish to overlay and adjust the settings to your preference.
- Use Alpha channel within overlay will ignore the opacity and transparency settings and use the alpha information contained within an image if the image to overlay is a PNG with alpha information.
- Position can be varied by selecting the buttons to place it in the respective position on the image. If you want to offset the image stamp position from a particular edge, enter an offset value.
- Opacity is the opacity of the image stamp with respect to the image. A lower value makes the overlayed image more transparent.
- If you want a particular color of the image stamp to be completely transparent, check the Use Transparency checkbox and select the transparent color by selecting the color from the image by clicking on the eyedropper, or click the command button for a color picker.
- Transparency tolerance will set a range of tolerance to the transparent color. This is useful if the transparent color in the image is not one precise color.
- Edge Fade will overlay the image with faded edges. The thickness of the fade can be varied by adjusting the fade rate.
- Fit to Image will stretch the overlayed image to fit the source image.
- Keep Proportions will maintain the aspect ratio of the image and stretch it to the boundaries of the source image.
- Allow Enlarge will allow the overlayed image to be enlarged (only if "proportions" and "fit to image" is checked)
- Relative Size sets the size of the Overlay relative to the source image. This setting is only enabled if Fit to Image is selected and Keep Proportions is deselected.
Examples of a use for Image Overlay is to place a picture frame on an image or to overlay a company logo onto an image.
