Background Overlay

Overlay the source image onto a background image. This feature is ideal for use with transparent 32 bit PNG's or transparent source images created in EyeBatch with functions such as drop shadow. Use the browse button to select a background image. Varying the different settings produces various effects. The settings are outlined below.

Settings

  • Stretch to Canvas stretches the background image to fit the canvas
  • Tile Background tile the background image
  • Overlay Image with Alpha Channel select this to use the transparency information within the source image when overlaying onto the background
  • Background Color is the default background color that is used when the background image is not fit to the entire canvas or for any transparent sections of a background image
  • Background Image Filename is the path and file to the image used for the background. Select by clicking the browse button.
  • Overlay Position positions the source image on the canvas
  • Canvas Size specifies the size of the canvas (background) in either pixels or percent of the source image
  • Transparent Color specifies the color to use as transparent if the image doesn't contain alpha information and Overlay with Alpha Channel is not selected. Tolerance specifies the tolerance of the transparent color
  • Edge Fade Overlays the source image onto the background with faded edges. The rate of fade specifies the depth of fade. This setting functions only
  • Opacity specifies the opacity of the source image when overlayed onto the background. This is ignored when the source image contains alpha info and Overlay Image with Alpha Channel is selected

    Tip
Use the drop shadow coupled with background overlay containing the same background image as in your web pages. When the image is placed in the web page with the same background, it will appear as if the drop shadow is transparent and the actual background shows through.
